The Meditation Garden…Your sanctuary in a mad world

A meditation sanctuary can be an invaluable asset if you want to get the most from these sessions. It is your place that you know when you leave you will be a step further along the path to a Nu Yu.

I know lot’s of people create spaces, full of stones and images, and that’s great but you don’t NEED that. You just need an area that is comfortable and private, somewhere that is for you to relax in.

When I first started getting into meditation serously, I had a old, comfy chair in the corner of my sitting room. But that was my medtation chair.  When I sat down in it, I knew I was going to relax and meditate, and when I got up from it, I knew for sure I would be a lot better than when I had sat down.

Of course, for the rest of the day it was a target for my pets to sleep on.

Over time, I did add houseplants around it that helped me relax, stones to facilitate my energy work. A water feature and all sorts of good things that helped, but these were just the icing on the cake.

If you want to add things around your special chair, go for it.  If you can’t do house plants, do some relaxing photos. Make the area work for you.
